At around 10:00pm last night, a group of twenty or so hopefuls (this writer included) met by the Paris WSOP sign to embark on a scavenger hunt. The organizer/bank-roller of the hunt was the ever-generous TheBensBenz, a well-known figure in the community who often hands out staking deals, free rolls, and cash prizes to both poker players and those in need of a helping hand.

The goal of the hunt was simple enough, the first competitor to collect ten $1 chips from different casinos in Las Vegas wins. The prize? A 50/50 stake into the WSOP Main Event, or $5,000 in cold hard cash.

Sounds easy, right? Well, not so much. It was a lot harder than it sounds. The key to winning lay in the route planning. This writer did not plan accordingly and, as such, did not win!

The winner, Michael Lacy, knew his way around the Las Vegas Strip better than most and managed to collect all ten chips in under half an hour. How could anyone beat that? Michael’s run, literally, was an impressive feat of speed and savvy working in tandem.

The winning strategy

The next day, PokerOrg caught up with Michael to hear all about his strategy and how he managed to pull off a The Flash-esque performance.

TheBensBenz clearly has a heart of gold and seeks to use his own success to uplift others. The contest was well-executed and a ton of fun for all participants, even those that didn’t manage to win. TheBensBenz deserves all of the praise he’s getting for running this contest. Be sure to keep an eye out for any future opportunities from this guy!
