The next stop on PokerOrg’s new Instant coverage from major events in the poker world begins August 1, with our trip to London, England for not one, but two, prominent global gatherings. Instant will be on the scene at both Triton Super High-Roller Series London and WSOP Super Circuit London, bringing our followers two weeks of coverage done the way only Instant can, with a smorgasbord of videos, news updates and highlights, interviews, “First-Hand Hands” shared by the players themselves and plenty of other treats.
It’s easier than you might think… at least in one way. In one of the first arrangements of its kind, the Triton Super High-Roller series and the WSOP Super Circuit London festival are being held at the same venue, the trendy JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London’s tourist-friendly Mayfair district.
The two series aren’t being cross-promoted, but being hosted in two separate areas at the same convention-focused venue makes it the easiest of times for players who might want to take part in both the Triton and WSOP Circuit offerings. While the two series cater to different market niches, there’s always a little bit of crossover. In particular, the WSOP Circuit stop will likely benefit with a few extra entrants from off days or early-day eliminations from Triton events.
Triton’s nosebleed offerings draw the big names
Both the Triton and WSOP Circuit stops begin on Thursday. The Triton series, returning to London for the first time since 2019 with 15 events spanning 13 days. Each event carries at least a $20,000 buy-in, beginning with tomorrow’s start of the stop’s GGMILLION$ event.
A couple of the Triton series’ headline offerings begin after the calendar page flips to August. The $250,000 Luxon Pay Invitational begins on August 3, featuring poker-playing VIPs and prominent pros who have been invited by them to take part in the limited-field event. Triton’s “X” (Twitter) feed has been loaded with posts of VIP/pro pairs who have committed to the event, like this:
After the Luxon Invitational, it’s main-event time. Triton’s high-roller main, with a $125,000 buy-in, begins on August 5. Our Instant coverage kicks in on August 1 for the $200k NLH and takes in both of the other flagship events too.
Rings and chips on WSOP Super Circuit side
Somewhere else inside JW Marriott Grosvenor House, the WSOP Super Circuit London‘s own 15-ring-event slate also begins tomorrow. The Super Circuit stop is being run in conjunction with the WSOP’s international online partner, GGPoker, which will funnel at least 700 players into several of the stop’s events through online qualifiers.
The series begins with one of the hottest, trendiest formats in the game, a Mystery Million bounty-style NLH event with just a £560 buy-in that’s sure to be a huge draw.
The WSOP’s offerings include two distinct main events as well. The traditional “Circuit” main event in London offers an £1,100 buy-in and begins on August 4. As that tourney wraps up on August 8, the stop’s “Super Circuit” £3,300 main event begins, and it’s sure to catch a few extra visitors from the winding-down Triton events.
The WSOP Super Circuit series also runs three days longer than the nearby Triton series, continuing through August 13. The Super Circuit’s own high-roller and super-high-roller events are scheduled for August 12 and 13, respectively, to not clash directly against the Triton offerings. However, Triton is also running a $1m buy-in cash game which will be streamed live on YouTube on August 11 and 12.
